The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has announced that they have started communications to reach an agreement on the election of the country’s new president. “We have started communications and, of course, this weekend is crucial to have an agreement, so that next week we have the president”, Kurt said.
Kosovo is in the decisive days for the election of the new head of state. According to the deadline set by the Constitutional Court, the political parties must reach an agreement by October 6.
If the Assembly fails to elect the president within this deadline, the country is expected to go to new parliamentary elections. The Constitutional Court has determined that the 60-day period for the election of the president began after the constitution of the Assembly.
