The head of the Vetëvendosje Movement, at the same time the Prime Minister in office, Albin Kurti, said before the start of the constitutive session of the Assembly, that the political agreement reached earlier (with the LDK) should also ensure the necessary votes for the election of the president.
He said that the constitution of the Assembly and the formation of the new Government would not prevent new elections if the president of the country is not elected.
“The constitution of the Assembly and the formation of the Government does not avoid new elections, if we do not also elect the President. And to elect the president, we need to have two-thirds, for the quorum to be present in the Assembly, now the Assembly is constituted when the legislature becomes ten, but the political agreement seems not to have been, so we have enough to have all the necessary deputies there agreement, for our joint candidate, Professor Bekim Sejdiun, or to have additional deputies. So, this is very important, but since we have a political agreement and the chairman of the session, the oldest deputy Avni Dehari, has called the constitutive session, we respond positively to it,” said Kurti./KosovaPress/
