Members of the Association of Balkan News Agencies Southeastern Europe (ABNA-SE) came together at the “Balkans Meet in Trieste” conference and discussed strategic communication, combating disinformation and regional cooperation to support media freedom.
Before the 34th ABNA-SE General Assembly to be held tomorrow in Trieste, hosted by the Italian ANSA agency, the managers of the news agencies that are members of the union came together at the “Balkans Meet in Trieste” conference.
AA Global News and Marketing Director Erman Yüksel and AA Strategic Communications and External Relations Manager Bilgehan Öztürk also attended the conference.
ANSA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Stefano de Alessandri expressed his pleasure in hosting such a conference before and during the ABNA-SE General Assembly.
ABNA-SE Secretary General and Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) Director General Kiril Valchev said, “National news agencies in the Balkan region are obliged to help people in our countries get to know each other better. This recognition process takes place every day when we receive news about each other. By directly exchanging news every day, we not only learn about the events in our neighboring countries. We can also benefit from each other’s experiences and find solutions to similar problems.” he said.
In the panels held within the scope of the conference, topics such as “Enlargement, Strategic Communication and Combating Disinformation”, “Regional Cooperation to Support Media Freedom” and “Economic and Strategic Role of the Adriatic Sea” were discussed comprehensively.
