The Democratic Party of Kosovo continued its movements in the bodies of accusation against the non-constitution of the legislature of the Assembly. This time, the PDK accused the oldest deputy of the Assembly, who is currently the leader of the constitutive session, Avni Dehari, of abuse of office.
“Today, the Democratic Party of Kosovo will file a criminal complaint in the Special Prosecutor’s Office against MP Avni Dehari, who, as you know, due to his age is the head of the constitutive session, or its chairman, and a duty that he is not exercising in accordance with the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly of Kosovo and the Constitution of Kosovo. As you know, the Rules of the Assembly of Kosovo require that the Assembly meet every 48 hours. Avni Dehari, as the chairman of this session, must convene the Assembly every 48 hours to continue the constitutive session. Although we have sent several letters, he has not called the session, the continuation of the constitutive session. Therefore, we will file a criminal complaint for abuse of office, in accordance with Article 414 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo. He should know that he is not the first of the tribe head of a state body and is required to act”, said Gruda.
The deputy of PDK, Gruda, emphasized that the force to which he belongs does not change his position regarding the issue of the election of the president, for which the head of Vetëvendosje, Albin Kurti, met with the head of LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku.
“We have declared that we are a party in the opposition, therefore we are not part of the dialogue to elect a president. This position of the PDK does not change, regardless of what the other parties develop as a process. We have determined our position, we are in the opposition, because we believed, after participating in the meeting with Kurt, that he does not intend to solve the crisis in Kosovo. Therefore, we do not participate in this political theater”, he said.
The PDK and the Alliance continued their protest in front of the Government building on Thursday, where they demanded the constitution of the Assembly, a process that has remained suspended since the Vetëvendosje Movement, which emerged as the first force in the June elections, refuses to propose the name of the new head of the legislative body without an agreement on the new head of the country.
According to Vetëvendosje, the lack of an agreement for the president could lead the country to early elections again.
