“2nd International Anatolian Academic Studies Symposium” organized by the International Center for Strategic Research (USAR) started in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Universities from Türkiye, Turkish institutions and organizations and many non-governmental organizations also supported the symposium organized by USAR and hosted by the International University of Sarajevo (IUS).
The symposium, which started with the title “The Balkans in a Changing World: Multidimensional Approaches and Interdisciplinary Perspectives”, was attended by Türkiye’s Ambassador to Sarajevo Emin Akseki, as well as the rectors of 16 universities from Türkiye, officials from Bosnia and Herzegovina, academicians and guests.
USAR Chairman of the Board and Dr. Lecturer Member Abdullah Akmaz, in his statement to the AA correspondent, said that they chose Sarajevo for the program because they saw it as a valuable city both in terms of history and civilization.
Akmaz stated that they will evaluate the Balkans with a future perspective and said, “We will organize a two-day science program within the scope of this study.” he said.
Expressing that they host academics from Türkiye and abroad, Akmaz stated that papers will be presented face to face and online.
Akmaz added that the papers in both science and social sciences will be turned into a book.
While 108 academics from Türkiye and 69 different universities abroad attended the symposium, a total of 542 academics from 21 countries came together.
Within the scope of the symposium, which will end on August 29, 340 papers are expected to be presented in 50 different halls.
