LDK convenes the party assembly on July 30, on Thursday it will be decided whether or not to dismiss the chairman Lumir Abdixhiku

“I believe in democracy, so I called the extraordinary assembly of the party for my dismissal, as they asked me. On Thursday, July 30, we define the LDK. After that, let’s define the Republic.” This was the statement of the chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, while announcing the meeting of his party’s delegates on Thursday, although according to him it was unnecessary and out of place.

“As a one-sided process, I consider it harmful and divisive, not for my individual fate, but for the wounds it has left on the LDK. It was neither the time, nor the place, and even less the way to hold it.” – said Abdixhiku, stressing that he respects democracy and has faith in the membership of his party.

“I will enter this Assembly with conviction, with calmness and with full faith in our people and I will stay on this journey, because apart from conviction, I have nothing else and from these convictions, comes my call, to the delegates of the League. Stay!”- said the head of the third largest party in Kosovo, among other things.

Abdixhik called the extraordinary assembly of the party for his removal from office following the request submitted by more than 150 of the 355 delegates, who were prompted by the defeat in the June 7 elections.

The Democratic League of Kosovo came third after LVV and PDK, but the developments came while that party was holding talks with the winner of the elections on an agreement for the creation of new institutions, negotiations that have remained suspended, while the session for the constitution of the Assembly, which will pave the way for that process, is held on August 6.
