The tropical storm has already hit Texas, where several cities were flooded. It will also threaten the states of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama, where it can rain up to 400 mm in one day.
The warning against possible floods related to precipitation also applies to northwest Florida and the state of Georgia, where Arthur will continue. High totals can flood rivers or cause flash floods in cities.
To make matters worse, a tornado warning is also in effect in coastal areas, including the city of New Orleans.

There is also a risk of flooding in Atlanta, where the Czech national football team is playing its World Cup match on Thursday. It is not excluded that a storm could appear during the match, but the worst weather awaits the metropolis of the state of Georgia on Friday night.
The match itself should not be threatened by rain, because the stadium in Atlanta has a retractable roof. However, due to safety rules, the match would have to be interrupted if lightning was detected within a radius of 10 miles (approx. 16 km).
