A man in Britain stabbed a seventeen-year-old girl in the neck

“A 30-year-old man, described by police in Lancashire as British of Pakistani origin, has been arrested on suspicion of the attempted murder of a teenage girl who is also of Pakistani origin,” the BBC reported.

The attack took place at 15:06 local time (16:06 CET) in the town of Brierfield near Nelson in Lancashire, England.

The authorities immediately sent armed police officers to the scene. They arrested a thirty-year-old man suspected of attempted murder.

According to the BBC, the man stabbed the girl in the neck. According to the BBC, the injuries should not be life-threatening. “We know that this event will cause concern in the local community and therefore additional patrols will be deployed in the area this evening to calm the situation,” said a local police spokesman.

The incident occurred a few days after a 30-year-old Sudanese man tried to cut off the head of a man ten years older in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He ended up in the hospital with serious injuries to his face, neck and back. He lost an eye, the other one is injured. In Belfast, the attack sparked riots, during which masked radicals burned cars and damaged houses.
