If you do not fulfill the trade agreement by July 4, I will increase your tariffs, Trump threatened the EU

Trump published the post after a phone call with the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. At the beginning, he praised this phone call. “We discussed many topics, including that we fully agree that Iran must never have a Nuclear Weapon. We agreed that a regime that kills its own people cannot control a weapon that can wipe out millions,” Trump wrote in his signature style.

The American president got around to canceling tariffs on goods imported from the USA only later. “I am patiently waiting for the EU to fulfill its part of the Historic Trade Agreement we agreed in Turnberry, Scotland, the largest Trade Agreement ever! A promise was made that the EU will fulfill its part of the Agreement and reduce Tariffs to Zero in line with the Agreement!” said Trump.

The agreement mentioned by Trump was adopted by the European Parliament only in March, and individual Brussels authorities started meeting about it on April 13. The United States, which as part of the agreement set tariffs on imported European goods at 15 percent, has already fulfilled its part of the agreement.

“I agreed to give Von der Leyen time until the 250th birthday of our country, otherwise, unfortunately, their tariffs will immediately jump to a much higher level,” Trump threatened the EU’s conclusion and gave it a specific deadline by which to fulfill the terms of the agreement.
