Autumn festivals, fairs and other events associated with pumpkins are gaining popularity, and no wonder. Fragrant pumpkin piessoups and other goodies, popular carving of lanterns, haunted trails, creation and lots of fun for kids… You can enjoy all this with the whole family in a number of places where the warm autumn atmosphere breathes on you.

Pumpkin festivities in the Chládek Horticulture

On Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th October you can come to a popular event in a well-known Prague garden center. As part of the traditional pumpkin festivities, a lot of fun awaits you, including carving pumpkins (tools will be prepared), a performance by a juggler, creations from sand and rich refreshments in the local restaurant. Children will enjoy face painting or a bouncy castle, while dads will enjoy pumpkin beer from the Břevnovský monastery brewery of St. Vojtěch.

You will enjoy a weekend full of well-being from Saturday 25 to Sunday 26 October at Vraňany Farm near Mělník. You can look forward to wonderful autumn decorationmore than two thousand pumpkins of all shapes and colors, a competition for the most beautiful pumpkin and a seasonal menu at Café na Výsluní. Try the pumpkin burrito, pumpkin currypancakes or potato pancakes, pumpkin cream will warm you up, and pumpkin coffee will not be missing either. You can explore the pumpkin trail, the children have fun on the straw playground, and you can have your photo captured as a souvenir.

You haven’t been in yet Lavender Valley not far from Zdice? Then it’s time to fix it. Right now, the local orchards are playing with all colors and the gardens are full not only of pumpkins, but also of cabbage, cabbage or patizons. From October 14 to 19 pumpkin festivities will take place here and a varied program is prepared.

You can relax in rocking chairs, sit by the fire, let the little ones run around on the straw playground or pet the animals from the farm. Pumpkin picking and fair in Třebíč

On Saturday, October 11 you are invited to the Třebíč fair connected with pumpkin picking. Children will enjoy creative activities, competitions and face painting, there will also be a demonstration of carving pumpkins and historic tractors and a dance performance.

If you visit this Sunday, October 12 on Slavkov castleyou can look forward to a pleasantly spent day full of relaxation and good food. There will be a celebration of pumpkins in the castle courtyard, which you can carve with your own hands, and then, according to local tradition, store your “pumpkin” with the others in the castle’s basement to wait out the winter in peace. The entrance to the underground will be open from 14:00 to 16:30. But there is much more on the program, for example a fair with handicrafts or creative workshops for children and adults.

Saturday, October 18 the Central Bohemian village of Máslovice will include pumpkin carving, a popular event full of (not only) pumpkin delicacies, both salty and sweet. Every visitor can carve and decorate your pumpkin and enter it in the competition for the most beautiful, scariest and most original (announcement will take place at half past five in the afternoon). You can bring a pumpkin or buy it on the spot, lecturers and decorating materials will be available. Children will certainly be happy to participate in competitions and games, for the smaller ones a fairytale forest will be prepared.

Pumpkin games in the botanical garden in Troja

Already on the weekend of October 11 to 12 you in Prague Trojan Botanical Garden you will be surprised by the original decoration and strange pumpkin arrangements, not only in the sign of ghosts. The weekend pumpkin games are part of the annual pumpkin exhibition (takes place from October 10 to November 2) and everyone can participate in carving.

In addition to pumpkins, there will also be various natural objects and decorative material that can be used in creation. Carve an imaginative autumn decoration together with the children, which you can take home with you. On the weekend of October 25 and 26 you can then come to the garden to make a Halloween pumpkin lantern.

Pumpkin picking in Hazlov

It is organized by the Na Gruntu restaurant and guesthouse in Hazlov in the Karlovy Vary region on Saturday, October 11 pumpkin picking with a varied accompanying program.
