The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, has accepted the defeat of his list in the extraordinary parliamentary elections, declaring that the winner is the list of students who organized the blockades.
Speaking at the headquarters of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), Vucic said that the results are not yet final, but preliminary data show that his list is lagging behind.
“We do not have the final results yet. But, based on the stratified sample, it is clear that we lost these elections”, he said.
According to Vucic, the list of students is expected to provide between 135 and 140 mandates, while his list is about 105 mandates. He added that the Union of Hungarians of Vojvodina will also enter the parliament.
Vucic also stated that the final results may bring surprises, criticizing the reports and predictions made during the election campaign.
