The President of the European Commission, Ursula von Der Leyen, has left three messages for Kosovo, while she held special meetings in Pristina with President Vjosa Osmani and acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti, ending her visit to Kosovo without a press conference.
Through a post on the “X” network, the Head of the EC emphasized that the European Union is committed to a future in which all partners of the Western Balkans are part of the Union.
“For this reason, it is important that Kosovo continues building safe institutions. To reduce tensions and finalize the necessary steps to benefit from the EU Growth Plan, she wrote.
Meanwhile, President Osmani informed that during the meeting with the head of the EC, she talked about the implementation of the Growth Plan, the unfair punitive measures of the EU towards Kosovo and the European integration of the country.
“The support of the European Commission for Kosovo in this process remains essential,” said Osmani.
After this meeting, the acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, received the senior European official in the meeting in the building of the Assembly of Kosovo, since on August 8, the EU Office in Pristina informed the Government in office that the officials of the European bloc would no longer hold meetings at the headquarters of the government until the creation of the new executive.
While receiving the president of the EC in Belgrade, Serbian leader Aleksandar Vucic said that they also discussed the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue. For her part, Von Der Leyen emphasized that Serbia must take concrete steps for membership in the European Union.
During the conference with Vučić, she asked Belgrade to support European sanctions against Russia.
