Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates have agreed on defense cooperation, Zelenskyi said

On Friday, Zelenskyi announced an agreement on defense cooperation with Saudi Arabia, and on Saturday it was received by the President of the United Arab Emirates, Muhammad bin Zayd Nahyan. According to Zelensky, they agreed that they will cooperate in the field of security and defense and that the teams of both countries will fine-tune the details.

“In connection with current threats, it is important for normal states to ensure stability and the protection of lives,” said Zelenskyj. He added that Ukraine already has adequate experience in this.

Since February 2022, Ukraine has been defending itself against the Russian invasion, which includes daily attacks by hundreds of Russian drones. He is trying to pass on his experience in repelling these attacks to the countries of the Middle East against which Iran sends its drones.

Ukraine claims that its anti-drone defense is the best in the world. It offers states hit by Iranian attacks to use its drone fighters instead of cargo missiles for air defense systems and provide missiles to its army. Ukrainian officials say that they are necessary to repel the missile attacks that Russia launches against Ukraine practically every day.

“There must be sufficient protection everywhere. That is why we are willing to engage in work that… will strengthen the protection of lives in our countries,” Zelenskyj said.

In the United Arab Emirates, as well as in Saudi Arabia on Friday, the Ukrainian president met with Ukrainian air defense experts who have been working there for several weeks. “Today, Ukraine not only needs help, but is ready to help those who support us,” Zelenskyy said on the Telegram platform on Saturday.
