Trustees of Epstein’s estate will pay hundreds of millions to settle a lawsuit against his associates

The lawsuit against Epstein’s former personal attorney Darren Indyke and former accountant Richard Kahn, who are co-trustees of the financier’s estate, was filed in 2024. The agreement between the two parties must now be approved by a judge, Reuters reports.

Specifically, Indyke and Kahn faced charges that they helped Epstein set up a complex web of companies and bank accounts that allowed him to cover up his crimes and pay off victims and recruiters. They themselves were to be “richly rewarded” for this service.

According to the lawyer of both men, Daniel H. Weiner, Indyke and Kahn did not admit any wrongdoing as part of the agreement. “Because they did nothing wrong, the co-trustees were prepared to defend these claims against them in court. However, they agreed to plead and settle this lawsuit to end the lawsuits against Epstein’s estate,” Weiner said in a statement.

Jeffrey Epstein he was an American financier who built up an extensive network of contacts among the elites and at the same time abused minor girls for a long time; according to the FBI, he harmed more than a thousand victims and died in custody under suspicious circumstances after his arrest in 2019.

Epstein files (Epstein files) are the collective name for the millions of pages of investigative and court documents on the Epstein case, the gradual and incomplete disclosure of which raises doubts about transparency and whether the responsibility of all those involved has been inferred. A number of influential persons are named in the files, the name of Donald Trump is often inflected. You can find out everything about the Epstein case below:

The American financier died in a New York prison in August 2019, his death is officially classified as a suicide. However, there are still considerable doubts about the official version of events. His estate subsequently set up a restitution fund, which has already paid out 121 million dollars (2.5 billion crowns) to his victims. She paid another 49 million (roughly one billion crowns) to settle various lawsuits.

Considering the amounts already paid, it is not entirely clear how much money is left from Epstein’s estate and who exactly it belongs to. He himself named more than forty different possible heirs in his will. However, most of his finances should have gone to his long-time partner Karyná Shuliaková.

The law firm representing the predator’s victims has already secured compensation in the total amount of 365 million dollars (7.5 billion crowns) from JPMorgan Chase and Deutsche Bank. Epstein was their lucrative client and, according to the lawyers, the banks missed the signs of his criminal activity.
