A tragic accident took place on Wednesday, March 25 in Schramberg, in the Rottweil area, where a mother and her child lost their lives after being hit by a truck. According to local media, the two victims were citizens from Kosovo.
Police said the driver of the heavy vehicle allegedly lost control due to a medical problem. The truck left the road, hit several parked cars and ended up on the pavement, then crashed into the wall of an apartment building.
The incident happened around 09:20, when the victims were on the sidewalk and were beaten to death. As a result of the accident, other people were also injured, some of them in serious condition, who were transported to the hospital.
The truck driver was trapped in the cab and was pulled out by fire crews. Multiple emergency forces, including a rescue helicopter, responded to the scene, while authorities called for the area to be avoided to facilitate relief operations.
Investigations for the full clarification of the causes of the accident are still ongoing.
