A tragic accident happened yesterday evening on the Radishan-Prishtina-Mirkovce circuit in North Macedonia, where four people lost their lives as a result of a collision between a truck with license plates from Kosovo and a BMW car. According to reports from the media in North Macedonia, the collision was extremely strong, causing the BMW type vehicle to be engulfed in flames immediately, while the people inside it were unable to escape.
New and shocking details are emerging from this serious event. ALSAT learns in advance that the driver of the truck has survived, while according to the first information it is suspected that he had lost consciousness due to fatigue, passing into the opposite lane and causing the fatal accident.
Police sources from the scene have indicated that the possibility that the driver of the BMW car was a woman is not excluded. However, the authorities have not yet published the identity of the victims, as the condition of the bodies and the complete burning of the vehicle make identification very difficult.
According to preliminary information, forensic experts and the guardian prosecutor are analyzing every detail from the scene of the tragedy. Sources indicate that the vehicle was almost completely burned, while only the metal skeleton remained of the car. For this reason, the official identification of the victims is expected to require time and the completion of the autopsy.
It is not yet known whether a family or a group of people was traveling in the vehicle, while the possibility that there were children among the victims is not excluded. Preliminary investigations lead to the suspicion that the accident was caused by the driver of the truck, who allegedly lost control of the vehicle due to fatigue and went into the opposite lane when the BMW was moving in the opposite direction.
Numerous police forces, firefighters and emergency teams continue to remain at the scene, while the road is blocked due to intensive investigations. The authorities are expected to come out with an official version of the event only after the completion of full examinations.
