The organization of the Liberation Army of Kosovo has called a popular protest in Pristina, as a sign of opposition to the last decision of the Special Court in The Hague against the former leaders of the KLA.
The protest will take place on Friday, September 18, at 12:00, in “Skënderbeu” square.
The decision has been described by the KLA War Veterans Organization as unfair.
Gazmend Syla, representative of OVL-UÇK, announced that it will be proposed to create a national coordinating council and a platform that includes the institutions of Kosovo, political subjects, civil society, representatives from Albania, Albanians in the region and diaspora.
“We will respond to this injustice done to the war leaders of the KLA with an initiative for the creation of a national coordinating council and a platform where Albania will be included, but also other Albanians who live in other countries, be it Montenegro, be it the Presheva Valley, but also from our diaspora”, he declared.
According to him, the goal is to design a common strategy during the decision appeal process.
“We will request the creation of a strategy opposing this decision until the end of the appeal process, where we request the involvement of our institutions, parliamentary parties, civil society, other institutions that could contribute in this direction”, said Syla.
