The USA approved the sale of 32 F-35 fighters to Romania

The contract, which still needs to be approved by Congress, includes the sale of fighter jets and engines from Lockheed Martin. “This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by enhancing the security of a NATO ally that is an important force for political and economic security in Europe,” the US State Department said in a statement.

The announcement of the contract comes at a time when Ukrainian pilots began training on F-16 aircraft this week at a special center in Romania. Kiev wants to accelerate the use of these American fighters to repel Russian strikes.
