The veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army and many other citizens from Kosovo and the diaspora have gathered today in Strasbourg, France in support of former president Hashim Thaçi, former parliamentarians Jakup Krasniqi and Kadri Veseli and former deputy Rexhep Selimi who are being tried in the specialized chambers of Kosovo with headquarters in The Hague for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Before the striking of the parliamentary assembly of the Council of Europe in the French city, the participants in the protest will demand justice for the four former leaders of the KLA and, as stated by the head of the organization of KLA war veterans Hysn Gucati, to remind the European institutions that they have established an ethnic court based on the false statements of the former Swiss senator, Dick Marti.
Protests in support of Thaçi, Krasniqi, Veseli and Selim have also been held previously in Pristina, The Hague and Tirana.
Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selim have been in custody since November 2020. They are accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity during the last war in Kosovo, charges that they have denied and have declared themselves innocent.
