“Around six in the morning (5:00 a.m. CEST), a Molnija drone hit a gas station in the Zarichny district… A fire broke out on the spot,” reported Sumy Mayor Artěm Kobzar on Thursday morning, while the head of the local regional military administration, Oleh Hryhorov, later announced that four people were injured in the attack.
“Two employees of the station were hospitalized. Initial reports indicate that their injuries are not serious. A married couple who was in the vicinity of the attack was also injured. They were given the necessary care, but did not require hospitalization,” said Hryhorov.
The head of the regional military administration, Ivan Fedorov, informed about the attack on the Zaporozhye gas station at 7:11 a.m. local time (6:11 a.m. CET), reports Ukrainska Pravda. However, this blow escaped without injury.
Russian attacks on Ukrainian gas stations have become more and more frequent in recent weeks. They have already been reported in Kharkiv and Odesa regions. According to Hryhorov, this is part of ongoing Russian efforts to disrupt Ukrainian logistics and fuel supplies. According to him, the Sumy region recorded thirteen such attacks in June alone.
