The director of the Office for Kosovo in Serbia, Petar Petković, stated today that it is important that in the new extraordinary elections for the Assembly of Kosovo, scheduled for June 7, the Serbian List secures all 10 guaranteed mandates for the Serbian community.
According to him, the representatives who will be elected should be people who “fight for the interests of the Serbian people”, while he emphasized that the Serbian List remains the only defender of Serbian national interests in Kosovo.
Petković stated that the arrest of seven directors of Serbian education and health institutions in Kosovo is a clear indication that Serbs should vote exclusively for the Serbian List, which, according to him, enjoys the full support of official Belgrade and the Serbian president, Aleksandar Vučić.
“The victory of the Serbian List guarantees the continuation of the assistance of the Republic of Serbia to the Serbian people in Kosovo”, Petković declared.
He also accused the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, of directly ordering the detention of seven directors of Serbian institutions in Kosovo, claiming that there is no evidence against them and that basic human rights are being violated.
According to Petković, the detentions were carried out with the “full help” of Nenad Rašić, whom he said “will be remembered by the Serbian people as the person who introduced Kurt’s police into Serbian institutions”.
“There is no country in the world where someone ends up in prison for administrative issues or for dismissals from work in educational and health institutions. This is the employer’s right.” stated Petković, adding that the Serbian education and health system in Kosovo is under the jurisdiction of the Republic of Serbia.
