Citizens gathered this evening in the protest in front of the building of the Government of Kosovo have expressed their displeasure regarding the decision of the Specialized Chambers of Kosovo in The Hague against the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
Considering the decision unfair, they have called for the protests to continue and that they will not remain silent against this decision.
The former president of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison, while the former parliament speaker and spokesman of the KLA, Jakup Krasniqi, has also been sentenced to 25 years in prison. Kadri Veseli was sentenced to 18 years in prison, while Rexhep Selimi was sentenced to 13 years in prison.
Regarding the decision of the Specialized Chambers of Kosovo in The Hague, political figures from Albania, Kosovo and the region, as well as representatives of the international scene, have reacted. The reactions have been different, including positions on the decision, the judicial process and its importance for Kosovo and the region.
