The political crisis in France is deepening, the pressure for the resignation of the French president is growing. It follows the summer parliamentary elections, in which none of the blocs won a majority in the National Assembly (parliament).

The vote of no confidence was expected: the far-right opposition parties Marine Le Pen’s National Association and the left-wing National People’s Front previously stated that they would not support Barnier. Together they have a comfortable majority in the National Assembly.
