The event happened on Saturday morning. “Shortly after nine o’clock, the operations department received a disturbing report. According to witnesses, a fisherman was lying in Štruncový Sady near the footbridge to the brewery, suffering from health problems,” said Jana Pužmanová, spokeswoman for the city police.
According to the information found, people from the brewery called for help when they spotted the man from the opposite bank. Patrols went to the scene, the officers found a seventy-year-old man lying by the river. “He told them that he was suffering from pain in the area of the heart and had been lying here for approximately two hours. When he also mentioned that he had experienced serious cardiovascular events in the past, it was clear that the situation cannot be underestimated,” she added.
The city police therefore called an ambulance. Upon arrival, she checked the patient’s condition. Her spokesman Luboš Bouček specified that the man fell and could not get up due to weakness. The ambulance then transferred him to an intern at Privamed.
The guards took care of the fishing equipment and other things. They kept them until the owner could pick them up.
