One day after the failure of the formation of the new government, the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has today at 10:30 a.m. invited the leaders of the political parties to a meeting regarding finding a date for the extraordinary parliamentary elections.
“You are invited to a joint consultative meeting to set the date of the extraordinary elections”. it is stated in the invitation sent to the parliamentary parties.
With 56 votes in favor, 53 against and 4 abstentions, the second candidate from the Vetëvendosje Movement for Prime Minister, Glauk Konjufca, failed to create the new government of Kosovo yesterday (November 19). Earlier, while asking for the vote of the deputies, he said that it would be arrogance if Kosovo goes to elections again, stressing that without a new government the crisis in Kosovo will deepen.
Earlier, the Assembly of Kosovo met to discuss the creation of commissions that would pave the way for the review of the 2026 budget. The session was left open by Speaker Dimal Bashaq on the grounds that he expected a change in the positions of the political parties. During that session, Acting Prime Minister Kurti stated that if the international agreements were not voted, the country would lose over 200 million euros, funds from the growth plan of the EU and the World Bank.
