After the decision of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, which gave the Assembly 34 days to elect the country’s new president, Prime Minister Albin Kurti warned that he will invite the leaders of the opposition for talks. At the same time, he confirmed that he will hold consultations within his party to propose a candidate from the Vetëvendosje Movement.
“I did not have enough time for him to do the internal consultations for the next meetings, no doubt he will make invitations for meetings to the leaders of the opposition parties in order to see what are the ways to reach the number of at least 80 deputies, and I repeat, I do not believe that it is good to be only 80 or 81 deputies, we should be around 85, 84 to 86 to be safe so that let’s elect the president there“, he said.
The head of the government of Kosovo described that the issue of electing the president is urgent, but according to him it is important that it be concluded successfully.
“In this regard, the matter is of high importance, it is urgent, but the judgment of the Constitutional Court has given us a period of time which enables us not only to act quickly but at the same time not to make mistakes in order to get where we need to be”he emphasized.
Regarding the mistakes in the exhibition about Serbia’s crimes in Kosovo, Kurti said that they should be corrected and should be exposed both to the world and to new generations to understand the history of the people.
