From the meeting of the government, the acting prime minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti declared that the process of creating new institutions after the constitution of the Assembly will continue with the creation of the new government and then with the president.
“As soon as the results of the elections are certified, we will start work and discussions on the formation of new institutions, the constitution of the 11th legislature of the Assembly, the formation of the new government and the election of the president.”
Based on the results of the elections of June 7, where the Vetëvendosje Movement came out first again, Kurti said that that process was unnecessary, meanwhile he asked the political parties to accept and respect the will of the citizens expressed by voting.
“In any case, the citizens spoke clearly again. The result must be accepted and respected and the will of the people implemented and translated into functional democratic institutions committed to development and well-being, education and health, security and defense, industry and production, large infrastructure investments”, he said.
Early elections on June 7 took place after the parliamentary parties failed to reach an agreement to elect a new head of state.
