“The guided-missile cruiser USS Gettysburg, part of the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier strike group, accidentally fired and hit an F/A-18 aircraft flying from the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman,” the US military’s regional command, CENTCOM, said in statement.
CENTCOM previously announced airstrikes on the Yemeni capital Sana’a on Saturday evening. According to the army, the targets of the strikes were “a missile depot and command center operated by the Houthis, who are supported by Iran.” An AFP reporter also reported on the explosions in the Yemeni capital.
