The 102nd anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye was celebrated in representative offices in the Balkans

The 102nd anniversary of the establishment of the Republic of Türkiye and 29 October Republic Day were celebrated with receptions organized by representatives in the Balkan countries.

Kosovo Parliament Speaker Dimal Basha, Kosovo Regional Development Minister and Kosovo Democratic Turkish Party (KDTP) Chairman Fikrim Damka, as well as ministers, deputies, mayors, political party representatives, representatives of Turkish institutions working in the country and many guests representing Kosovo Turks attended the reception hosted by Turkey’s Ambassador to Pristina Sabri Tunç Angılı.

The event started with the reading of the National Anthem and the Kosovo national anthem, and a video message from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was watched.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Angılı emphasized that Türkiye is stronger today than it was a century ago.

Parliament Speaker Basha noted that Türkiye is a key ally and strategic partner for Kosovo.

The ceremony ended after refreshments were served to the participants.

The 102nd anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye was celebrated with various events held in Kosovo.

Turkish Harmony Stars Orchestra (TÜRKAY) gave a concert at the Sultan Murat Barracks, where the Kosovo Turkish Representation Delegation Presidency is located in Prizren.

In addition, with the support of the Turkish Embassy in Pristina, in cooperation with the Turkish Alumni Association (TÜMED) and Prizren Yunus Emre Institute, Anadolu University History Department Faculty Member Prof. Dr. The “Republic Day Conference” was held, with Şaduman Halıcı as a speaker.

In the program organized by the Kosovo International Maarif Schools affiliated with the Turkish Maarif Foundation (TMV) in its building in Pristina, the capital of Kosovo, Republic-themed shows were presented by the students.

On the other hand, the Turkish flag, which was hand-knitted by 102 women members of the Prizren-based Orkide Women’s Association, was hung on the balcony of the Consulate General of Türkiye in Prizren on the occasion of the 102nd Anniversary of the Republic of Turkey.

North Macedonia

The 102nd anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye was celebrated with a reception given by the Embassy in Skopje.

North Macedonian Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning Izet Mexhiti, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timço Mucunski, ministers, MPs, mayors, representatives of institutions and organizations from Turkey and North Macedonia and many guests attended the reception held at the Embassy residence.

Türkiye’s Ambassador to Skopje, Fatih Ulusoy, conveyed President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s greetings in his speech here.

Recalling that the Republic was founded 102 years ago, Ulusoy said, “Since the founding of our Republic, our country and our nation have come a long way in every field. Our country is a member of many international organizations such as the UN, NATO, OECD and G20, and is a candidate country for the European Union. It contributes to world peace by playing an active role in areas such as foreign policy and mediation, defense industry, development and humanitarian aid, and connectivity.” he said.

Ulusoy stated that Türkiye and North Macedonia are connected to each other with very strong ties, and that this bond is the people of the two countries.

President Erdoğan’s October 29 Republic Day message was also read at the reception.

On the other hand, a march was organized in the Old Skopje Bazaar in cooperation with the Culture and Promotion Consultancy of the Turkish Embassy in Skopje and the Union of Macedonian Turkish Non-Governmental Organizations (MATÜSITEB) with the support of the Skopje Tradesmen Association.

The 102nd anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye was celebrated with a reception given by the Embassy in Tirana.

Representatives of Turkish and Albanian institutions, ambassadors and many guests attended the reception held under the auspices of Türkiye’s Ambassador to Tirana, Tayyar Kağan Atay.

In the program, President Erdoğan’s 29 October Republic Day message was read.

In his speech here, Ambassador Atay said that the ties between Turkey and Albania are not just about agreements or high-level visits, but that cultural closeness is the product of a shared future vision for the Balkans and beyond.
