The head of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, has stated that in addition to Gjilan, in the second round of elections, his political force also won in Mitrovica, Fushë Kosovë and Obiliq.
“First of all, let me thank all the citizens who exercised their right to democratically elect the mayors of municipalities in 18 municipalities in this second round. The Vetëvendosje movement is participating in local elections for the fourth time.
The first time in 2013 we won one municipality, the second time in 2017 we won 3 municipalities, the third time in 2021 we won 4 municipalities and based on the data we received from our commissioners this time we won in 7 municipalities. This is a success of LVV.
Of course, we aimed for more than that“, said Kurti after leaving the LVV headquarters in Pristina.
Also, Kurti congratulated the four mayors of the municipalities who have governed in the past four years in Podujevë, Shtime, Kamenica and Gjilani, while he congratulated the LVV candidates who were in the runoff, since according to him all the others have joined together against this political entity.
“In addition, it is clear that we also won in Mitrovica and we also won in Fushë Kosovë and Obiliq. I thank our candidates, their teams, election staffs and our activists who have had an incredible battle since in all these cases everyone else has united against the LVV.
So, the LVV has faced their commonality, which is an unprecedented situation in the political situation of Kosovo, therefore this is a success of Vetëvendosje and the citizens.
We are still waiting for the results from the other municipalities. We will surely contact them again when we receive them, but now I have to hurry to the festive gathering first in Fushë Kosovë, then in Kastriot, and then of course in Mitrovica“, Kurti emphasized.
