Syria recognizes the independence of Kosovo

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has announced that the Syrian Arab Republic has recognized the independence of Kosovo.

The news was confirmed by Osmani himself through a post on social networks, where he announced that the agreement was reached today in Riyadh.

She said that the recognition was made possible with the support of the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.

“Today in Riyadh we reached the agreement through which the Syrian Arab Republic recognizes the Republic of Kosovo. I thank President Al Sharaa for the decision to recognize Kosovo and for his support for our people,” Osmani wrote.

The president added that this recognition is more than a formal diplomatic act, calling it “recognition of the sacrifice of many generations for freedom“.

The people of Kosovo and Syria have suffered and sacrificed a lot to achieve freedom. Therefore this mutual recognition today is not only of state sovereignty, but also recognition of the sacrifice of many generations to live free“, she emphasized.

Osmani thanked the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia for the mediation and emphasized that with this recognition, Kosovo is now recognized by 120 countries of the world.
