Support for Albanian students in RMV, to respect linguistic and educational rights

Dozens of citizens, young people and activists marched this Thursday in Shkodër in support of Albanian students in North Macedonia, demanding the right to take the jurisprudence exam in the Albanian language.

With placards in their hands, they left Dugajet e Reja, where they called for the respect of educational and linguistic rights.

Organizers and participants emphasized that the protection of linguistic and educational rights remains essential, calling for more attention and institutional commitment to this issue.

A draft law drafted in 2024 by the Ministry of Justice in North Macedonia, which aimed to enable the administration of the jurisprudence exam in the Albanian language, was not carried forward. After the changes in the parliamentary composition and the formation of the new government, it was removed from the agenda of the Assembly and has not been discussed by the current authorities.
