Serbia arrests a citizen of Kosovo at the border, claims war crimes

The Serbian authorities have arrested the citizen Osman Selmani at the border point of Mutivoda, which connects Kosovo with Serbia, on suspicion of committing war crimes.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia, the High Court in Belgrade ordered Selman to be detained for 30 days.

“There are well-founded suspicions that on 14.06.1999, in Sofali, Prishtina, in collaboration with some members of the KLA, with cold weapons and firearms, in a cruel and insidious manner, the lives of civilians of Serbian nationality, the husband and wife couple Vladimir and Persa Stanisavljevic,” was said in the announcement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia

On the other hand, Osman Selman’s family members have described the accusations as unfounded and untrue.

“We believe in his innocence and we will stand by him until the truth is fully revealed. We are confident that justice will prevail and the truth will come to light,” the family’s reaction says.
