Traditional gingerbread recipes
In the past gingerbread it was mainly men who baked: the dough made of honey, rye flour and spices sometimes needed half a year to spread and was so hard that it could be cut with an axe. Then it had to be manually processed and heated to body temperature, and that was work for really skilled hands. In families, women then took over the scepter and adapted the recipes to domestic conditions. You can bake them from smooth flour, or just like my favorite “Sandtnerka” use more traditional rye flour.
Fragrant gingerbread can also be decorated simply with a piece of almond or chocolatedelicate ornaments made of egg white glaze give them a Christmas charm. If you don’t feel like decorating with frosting, but still want nicely decorated gingerbread cookies, you can use molds for pressed gingerbread.
Tip: They will have a simple but effective decoration gingerbreadwhen before baking, spread them with a bow dipped in lukewarm water mixed with cocoa in a ratio of 1:1. Then spread the frosting on the gingerbread once more with a clean bow. This way you will create an effective “wooden” decor.
