Rainy Weather Affects Turkey

Türkiye is under the influence of rainy weather that will last for a week.

Murat Acar, Meteorologist of the General Directorate of Meteorology of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, gave information to the AA correspondent about the expected weather conditions in the country.

Acar stated that Turkey will be under the influence of the rain fog coming from the Balkans and said, “The rain will be in the form of rain and showers all over the country. We will first start to see the rain in the Marmara Region from Saturday morning.” he said.

Stating that the air temperatures, which are above seasonal norms due to the effect of rain fogs, will decrease especially in the western parts starting from Sunday and will drop to around seasonal norms, Acar said that heavy rains are expected in the Aegean Region and Antalya, starting from the Marmara Region.

Stating that they think that the expected heavy rains will not cause extreme events, Acar said:

“There is a possibility of snowfall only in the high areas east of Sivas, in the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea Region, and in the high parts of Hakkari, Van and Şırnak. For example, we do not expect snowfall in our 3 big cities. Snowfall in Edirne and Kırklareli surrounds on Sundays and Mondays.” “There is a possibility, but Istanbul will not be affected by this.”
