On December 28, the early parliamentary elections in Kosovo, RTSH analyst: Data favors the participation of the Diaspora

He emphasized that President Osmani has used the holiday period when a part of the Diaspora of Kosovo returns to their homeland to exercise their democratic right to vote, although this process is also carried out by post for the rest who cannot be physically present.

“We knew that the elections are close. What we didn’t know was the date. The president thought that the appropriate date would be December 28 because on this date the largest number of our emigrants living abroad will visit Kosovo.

Although our emigrants have the right to vote through the embassy or through the post office, the president thought it would be good if a significant part of them would visit their families during the end of the year holidays and use their democratic right to vote. Everything is fine”, declared Shala.

The latter stated that the opposition parties must work harder to ensure the vote of the Diaspora.

“I think that the opposition parties should work harder to get the vote of the emigrants and not make various political machinations to avoid the vote of the emigrants as much as possible as they did earlier and here VV has used it and won the heart of the emigrants. It is not VV’s fault when the opposition parties did not know how to use this moment“, he said, while adding that it is the duty of the President to determine the date of the elections within 45 days of the dissolution of the Assembly.

“It is at the discretion according to the Constitution for the President to determine the date according to the constitutional limits which are determined up to 45 days after the dissolution of the Assembly”, concluded the analyst.

Today, President Vjosa Osmani dissolved the Assembly of Kosovo and set December 28 as the date for early parliamentary elections.
