Billionaire Musk stated in the text that traditional German parties have failed because they have brought economic and economic stagnation, social unrest and erosion of national identity to the country. In it, he also mentioned, for example, migration, which former Chancellor Angela Merkel was said to have failed to manage.

Musk himself is also an immigrant, he was born in the Republic of South Africa and acquired American citizenship in 2022.

According to the billionaire, it is the AfD that is the only one that can save Germany, which he stated earlier in December on the X network. Even then, he received criticism for this, because according to many, he is interfering in the election campaign there. In February, Germany will hold new elections to the Bundestag, which will also elect a new chancellor.

In his commentary, which is added to the article after Musk’s text, Burgard praised the billionaire’s opinion that Germany is in an economic and cultural crisis. However, he attributed the AfD’s support to him, for example, due to the fact that this extreme right-wing party has in its electoral program withdrawal from the European Union, to whose market more than half of German exports go. This would have a very negative effect on Germany’s economy, he explained.

At the same time, he reminded that the AfD is moving away from the West and, on the contrary, is getting closer to Russia. “I look in vain for a condemnation of the offensive war against Ukraine in the election program, instead it calls for ‘restoration of uninterrupted trade with Russia’, which includes the ‘immediate lifting of economic sanctions against Russia (…),'” said Burgard.

Musk also stated that the AfD is not far-right. He called this phrase wrong. Burgard noted that Musk is mistaken and pointed to the problems of some AfD members. Namely, for example, Björn Höcke was convicted several times for using a prohibited Nazi slogan.

Elon Musk is the richest person in the world. In addition to the companies Tesla and SpaceX, he also owns the social network X, formerly known as Twitter, which has a huge influence around the world.

He is also a supporter of US President-elect Donald Trump, whom he supported in his presidential campaign this year against Democrat Kamala Harris. For this, Trump promised him a post in his new administration, he should lead the Ministry of Efficiency, which is supposed to be an unofficial advisory body of the government.

German elections to the Bundestag will take place from February 23 to 25. According to polls, the favorite is the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), headed by Friedrich Merz, who is also a candidate for chancellor. The AfD ranks the polls in second place, the SPD of the current chancellor, Olaf Scholz, in third.
