The meeting of the leaders of several political parties with the acting president of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, has ended. The latter has informed that the purpose of the meeting with the 11 leaders of the political parties was to find a common path in order to avoid institutional impasse and early elections.
“There were 11 leaders of political parties that are represented in the Assembly. The purpose of the meeting was to see if we have any way to move together, to avoid the institutional deadlock and early elections. You know that there are two political positions before us. We have the position of Vetëvendosje and our partners that, if they enter the constitution of the Assembly without an agreement on the president, the crisis of last year and this year could be repeated”Haxhiu declared.
The latter said that political parties should talk about the issues that are necessary for the functioning of the state, describing the position of the president as one of the main issues.
“The issue that we must treat seriously is the issue of the president. Prime Minister Kurti emphasized that he has the votes for the Speaker of the Assembly and the Government and the issue is the agreement for the president”. said Haxhiu.
According to her, now we have the position of the PDK, the LDK and the Alliance for the Assembly to be constituted and then discussed.
“We don’t need to guess what the lack of agreement brings. All the political entities that were in the meeting said that they should contribute maximally to the president’s cause and avoid elections“, she added.
