After counting almost all the votes, Albin Kurti announced the victory of the Vetëvendosje Movement. According to the preliminary results of the CEC, the ruling party won 42.92 percent of the votes, significantly less than in the December 2025 elections, when it won over 51 percent, but in the victory speech, Kurti left open the possibility of cooperation with other parties.
LDK scored the biggest increase compared to the December 2025 elections, its chairman Lumir Abdixhiku said, as his party won 17.6% of the vote. Former president Vjosa Osmani, leader of the LDK list and candidate of this party for president, thanked the citizens for their support, describing the result as the beginning of a new phase for the political entity.
“This is another confirmation that at least this decade, and I believe much more than that, belongs to the government of the Vetëvendosje Movement.Kurti said.
From PDK, the party that came second with 21.6% of the votes, Vlora Çitaku said that the low turnout in the elections was an indicator of the citizens’ disappointment.
“Of course, it is only the first step towards recovery, but this growth gives us hope that we are on the right path,said Osmani.
The head of AAK, Ardian Gjini, whose party came fourth and had an increase in support, said that his party will work to ensure that the citizens’ vote is fully respected.
“They have never regretted their vote. For us, this is an extraordinary start,” said Gjini.
Meanwhile, Lista Serbe announced that it has won all 10 mandates that are for the Serbian community in Kosovo. The result remains preliminary as conditional votes and those from the diaspora will be counted.
Turnout in Sunday’s election was 35%, down from 45% in the December 2025 election. According to the Kosovo Police, the voting process took place peacefully.
