The State Election Commission (SEC) has published the initial unofficial results of the second round of local elections 2025 in 32 municipalities and the capital Skopje.
According to the chairman of the SEC, Boris Kondarko, a total of 415,435 citizens voted from 98.25% of the processed polling stations, which constitutes 41.76% of the voting body at the national level.
In the race for mayor of the capital of Skopje, the candidate of VMRO-DPMNE and the Coalition, Orce Gjorgievski, won 93,207 votes, while the candidate Amar Mecinovic, received 58,994 votes (36.26%). The participation in the capital was 35.05%.
According to SEC data, VMRO-DPMNE and the Coalition lead in 21 municipalities, the VLEN Coalition in 4 municipalities, the SDSM and the Coalition in 3 municipalities, while the ZNAM Movement and the Rom Union in one municipality each.
In some of the main municipalities:
Aerodrom: Dejan Miteski (VMRO-DPMNE) – 17,873 votes; Aleksandar Trajanovski (LSDM) – 9,489 votes.
Kumanovo: Maksim Dimitrievski (ZNAM) – 16,528 votes; Goran Stojkovski – 15,366 votes.
Bogovin: Feti Abazi (VLEN) – 6,380 votes; Besnik Emshi (NAI) – 5,040 votes.
Kicevo: Aleksandar Jovanovski (VMRO-DPMNE) – 14,205 votes; Fatmir Dehari (AKI) – 11,908 votes.
Karposh: Sotir Llukrovski (VMRO-DPMNE) – 12,650 votes; Stevco Jakimovski (GROM) – 11,421 votes.
The results are initial, while the SEC is expected to publish the final results after processing all the data from the polling stations.
The first round of elections was held on October 19, where a total of 22 political parties, 19 coalitions and 119 voter groups and independent candidacies were registered.
