Kosovo seems to be heading towards new elections, after a while failure of the prime minister in officeAlbin Kurti, to secure 61 votes for the formation of the new government, the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) has announced that it will not attempt to create a parliamentary majority.
The chairman of the PDK, Memli Krasniqi, declared that if the president Vjosa Osmani invites him for consultations, he will confirm that the party does not have the necessary numbers to form the government.
“If the president invites us tomorrow, her question will be ‘do you have a majority’, I will immediately answer that no and we will not try to make a new majority because such a thing is not possible“, said Krasniqi.
With the two main parties unable to form a government, the most likely scenario is the announcement of new elections.
