The Slovak Ministry of the Interior recognized that Andrej Babiš was illegally registered as an agent of the former Czechoslovak secret police StB and did not knowingly cooperate with the StB.
The Office and Babiš reached a settlement in the dispute over the protection of personality regarding unauthorized records in StB volumes, and the court approved this settlement. The ministry justified the settlement with two legal analyzes and also the fact that there is a high risk of his losing the dispute and Babiš could additionally make high financial claims for damages.
According to the ministry, Babiš has pledged that he will not, among other things, make any claims for damages against Slovakia in connection with his records at the StB and will withdraw his complaints filed with the European Court of Human Rights.
