Within the scope of Europe Day events; Hadouti Orchestra met with music lovers at Kadir Has Culture and Art Center with the organization of Kayseri Chamber of Commerce EU Information Center. The concert, which attracted great interest, was the scene of colorful moments.
On May 9th Europe Day, which is celebrated every year with different themes to encourage unity and cooperation, Paris-based music group Hadouti Orchestra met with music lovers in a concert hosted by the Kayseri Chamber of Commerce EU Information Center. AK Party Kayseri MP, European Union Harmonization Commission and Joint Parliamentary Member Dr. Murat Cahid Cıngı, Kayseri Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors Chairman Ömer Gülsoy, board members, chamber personnel and a large number of citizens attended the concert. In his opening speech, Kayseri Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors Chairman Ömer Gülsoy stated that Europe Day is celebrated all over the world this year with the slogans of ‘Our Common Values, Our Common Past’ and ‘Peace and Prosperity We Build Together’ and made the following statements;
“The relations between Turkey and the European Union date back to the years when these foundations were laid. Since Turkey’s application for partnership to the European Economic Community in 1959, our relations have gone through ups and downs. Turkey has been a member of the ‘Customs Union’ since 1996. We make almost 50 percent of our exports to EU countries. Our country is the 5th country that EU countries import the most from. Economically, the EU and Turkey are like an inseparable whole. We have strong relations with the EU not only economically but also in many cultural, political and social areas. We believe that at the end of this process, our expectation of ‘Full Membership’, which we believe will be beneficial for both parties, will come true. We find an opportunity to come together on the occasion of this concert and share that our differences are actually our richness. I would also like to underline how valuable it is that we must unite strongly around our common values. Music is a universal way to express our feelings and tonight we feel the power of being together and solidarity. We say, ‘We are Stronger Together’. As Kayseri Chamber of Commerce, we will continue to do our best to build a brighter future with greater cooperation and solidarity.”
MP Cıngı also stated that he studied the European Union for many years and said; “The European Union is a very important formation for us. It is an important supranational power that has left its mark on world history and politics. Today, we are together with the musical aspect of the matter. On this occasion, I would like to congratulate both the European Union, which supports this beautiful organization, and our country, on May 9th Europe Day. Kayseri Chamber of Commerce serves as a very important catalyst in the conduct of our relations with the European Union in our city. The EU Information Center established within the Kayseri Chamber of Commerce offers very important advantages in the integration of tradesmen, industrialists and actors participating in economic activities in our city to the European Union. I have watched the concerts of these multinational orchestras before. It really offers a beautiful selection of melodies from around the world. People enjoy it very much.”
After the opening speeches, the Hadouti Orchestra, consisting of musicians from different countries such as Turkey, France, Greece, Romania and Serbia, took the stage. They sang melodies consisting of Balkan, Turkish and Middle Eastern music. In the concert where colorful scenes were experienced, the famous folk song of Kayseri, ‘Gesi Bağları’ was sung in unison. The concert attendees had an evening full of music. – KAYSERI
