Folk Song Concert in Edirne

Ministry of Culture and Tourism Edirne State Turkish Music and Rumelian Music Ensemble gave a concert “Black Sea and Rumelia Folk Songs from the Black Sea to the Balkans” together with Samsun State Classical Turkish Music Choir.

The concert, whose artistic director was Özge Altıntaş, took place at the Edirne State Turkish Music and Rumelian Music Community Concert Hall.

Music lovers also accompanied the artists from time to time, as they performed works such as “Samba’yi Flood”, “Oy Kemençe Kemençe”, “Guinea Greened Hazelnut Branches”, “Drama Bridge”, “Edirne’nin Ardı Bayler” and “Atabarı”.

Edirne Foundations Regional Director Ahmet Saraç, DSI 11th Regional Director Faruk Yücegök, Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Kemal Soytürk, Provincial Trade Director Mustafa Kurt and SGK Provincial Director Süleyman Lale also listened to the concert.

Community Manager Gökçe Bahar Ercan told the AA correspondent that they realized the first leg of the joint project of the two communities in Edirne, where selected folk songs from the Black Sea region and the Balkans were performed.

Stating that the Edirne State Turkish Music and Rumelian Music Ensemble will also go to Samsun in May next year as part of the project, Ercan said, “The name of that concert will be From the Balkans to the Black Sea. The people of the Black Sea and Thrace are enthusiastic, cheerful and lively. We wanted to combine this energy and bring the two cultures together.” he said.

Ercan stated that they will celebrate the 29 October Republic Day with a concert at the community building on 28 October.
