Edirne Promotion and Tourism Association (ETTDER) attended the closing conference of the “Europe in the Balkans: Common Future” Project
According to the statement made by ETTDER, the association board members attended the closing conference held in Dobrich, Bulgaria, as invited guests within the scope of the “Europe in the Balkans: Common Future” Project organized by the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA).
ETTDER Board Member and Trakya University Tourism Management Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Emel Gönenç Güler took part as a speaker in the “Smarter Europe” section, the closing panel of the conference.
Güler emphasized the positive effects of Interreg Cross-Border Cooperation programs and the importance of digitalization and smart applications for the future.
In addition, videos of 3D mapping studies carried out in historical touristic places of Edirne, which are the outputs of the project named “Revival of Ancient Historical and Cultural Corridors” implemented within the scope of the second call for proposals of Interreg-IPA Bulgaria-Turkey Cross-Border Cooperation Program carried out jointly by ETTDER and Harmanlı Municipality of Bulgaria, were shown live and in the background during the conference.
Many INTERREG Programs experts and managers from Bulgaria, Turkey, Romania, Serbia and North Macedonia also attended the conference. Also, Anadolu Agency General Manager and Balkan News Agencies President Serdar Karagöz made the opening speech.
Many NGO representatives and mayors from Bulgaria, Turkey, Greece and Romania participated as speakers to explain the impacts of cross-border projects. ETTDER Board Members Ali Karapire and Bülent Bacıoğlu also attended the conference.
