1. When will Trump’s inauguration be?
The inauguration of the re-elected President Donald Trump will take place on January 20, 2025 in Washington DC. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for noon (18:00 CET), after taking the oath he will become the 47th president of the USA.
2. Inauguration Program 2025
On Monday, the inaugural day will begin with a morning service in St. John’s Church. Afterwards, Biden and Trump will meet for tea at the White House. The main event of the day will be the inauguration of Donald Trump, which will take place in the Capitol. After the ceremony itself, the new president delivers a speech that can last around a quarter of an hour.
This will be followed by an official farewell to outgoing President Joe Biden and defeated candidate Kamala Harris. After that, Trump will sign the first documents and nominations in his old position in the Presidential Room in the Capitol.
Next in line is the planned inaugural lunch for the president, vice president and members of Congress. There will also be a traditional inaugural presidential parade along Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House with a military parade. After further signing of official documents, Trump will attend three inaugural balls, at all three of which he should deliver a speech.
3. When does Trump’s term begin
The term of office of current President Joe Biden, who defeated Trump in the 2020 elections, ends with Trump’s inauguration, i.e. on January 20 at noon. But the process of handing over the office starts earlier, practically shortly after the elections. The acting president (Joe Biden) and his team are helping the smooth takeover of power – meetings are taking place with future members of the government to familiarize themselves with the functioning of the authorities. The future president (Donald Trump) also has security after winning the elections.
4. Who will attend the inauguration
Although the inauguration is traditionally key especially for domestic American politics, Trump already made it clear before Christmas that he intends to treat his second inauguration as a grand parade with foreign politicians as guests. According to information from the American media, billionaires Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg or Jeff Bezos should also be present.
Former US presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton should attend the inauguration. The last two named will be accompanied by their wives, but Michelle Obama will not attend, according to her office. Current President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris should also attend according to tradition.
Some world leaders and politicians could also be present, although the participation of foreign leaders is unprecedented at the inauguration of an American president, as the Focus newspaper writes. For example, Argentine President Javier Milei, Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloniová or Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro received invitations. Chinese President Xi Jinping will send an official representative. The Czech Republic will be officially represented by Ambassador Miloslav Stašek.
5. Where to watch the inauguration
The live broadcast of the inauguration of Donald Trump will be offered by Fairpress on Monday evening. The ceremony will also be analyzed by Eva Mikulecká with guests in the program Novinek Express.
