“On Monday morning, an emergency medical aid crew from Tábor intervened together with a doctor for the collapse of a young man. Despite all the efforts of the responders, the doctor had to declare death after a long resuscitation,” said Petra Kafková, spokeswoman for South Bohemian medical rescuers.
The police are dealing with the tragedy. “Tábor detectives are investigating the death of a young man, which occurred this morning in front of the building of one of the local schools,” said South Bohemian Police spokesperson Lenka Krausová, adding that the case is only at the very beginning of the investigation, and therefore the police will not provide further information.
Everything was described to Novinka by the director of the concerned Secondary School of Trade, Services and Crafts and Language School with the Right to State Language Examination (SSJS) Radek Cícha. “It happened at about 8:30 in the morning. Even before graduation began. One of the teachers was nearby and called an ambulance, which was on the scene within moments. Resuscitation then took tens of minutes,” said the director.
According to him, the student had no reason to be nervous. “We also expected that he would be successful in his graduation. It is a huge tragedy,” he added.
