Cech in Berlin faces accusations of more than a thousand sexual attacks against his daughter

According to the indictment, the crimes occurred between May 2015 and June 2024. The man is accused of a total of 1,059 sexual assaults. His daughter is a co-plaintiff in the trial. The forty-seven-year-old man denied the accusation before the Berlin regional court. According to him, he and his daughter had been partners “since her 18th birthday, sex was voluntary”, explained the man.

Moreover, he denied that he was her biological father. “I can’t be her father, because I’ve always been careful,” he said, according to the tabloid BZ. However, he is listed as the father of the young woman in the birth certificate.

According to the indictment, the father ignored his daughter’s expression of disapproval and repeatedly forced sexual acts. He threatened either to commit suicide if the girl “doesn’t cooperate” or to publish intimate recordings. “From September 2015 until the witness reached the age of majority, sexual acts occurred at least once a day – usually in the evening,” according to the weekly newspaper Die Zeit, the indictment states. During the first month, the girl protested, later, according to the court, she “resigned”.

When the daughter found a new boyfriend in the summer of 2024, the man admitted that he was jealous. “I was jealous, I admit it,” he said today in front of the court and at the same time stated that the whole thing “was a huge mistake” that he should never have gotten involved in. Compared to his other statements before the court, however, according to the BZ newspaper, this sentence sounded as if it had been prepared by the defense.

Since June 25, the man identified as Martin H. has been in custody in Berlin. His last place of residence was a hostel in Hellersdorf, where he lived with two sons and a daughter from a previous relationship.

Another six business days are planned as part of the process. The trial is expected to continue on December 11. The verdict could be handed down on February 10, 2025.
