Ballots from outside Kosovo are counted, CEC follows the process of conditional votes

The spokesperson of the Central Election Commission in Kosovo, Valmir Elezi, announced that the process of counting votes from abroad has been completed.

Those ballots belong to the process of voting by mail from September 17 to October 11, which were withdrawn from CEC mailboxes in 22 different countries as well as from the CEC mailbox in Kosovo.Elezi announced.

He informed that 5 polling stations belonging to the municipalities of South Mitrovica, Kamenica and Podujeva are being recounted at the Vote Counting Center by decision of the Electoral Panel for Complaints and Submissions.

Spokesman Elezi also announced the start of counting conditional ballots cast in 54 separate polling stations in 38 municipalities and those of persons with special needs conducted through mobile teams. According to the CEC, the scanning of the voter list continues.

This step is essential for guaranteeing the integrity of the electoral process, as the scanning enables the comparison of the participants in the voting in the regular polling stations with those who have voted conditionally. The aim is to identify cases where a person has voted twice,” it is stated in the announcement of the CEC.

In the elections of October 12, the mayors of 38 municipalities were voted for. After the publication of the preliminary results by the CEC, 17 municipalities will go to the runoff on November 9.
