An F-35 fighter jet crashed in a military complex in Nevada

“The pilot ejected after reporting difficulties with maneuvering the aircraft,” reported the ABC station, citing its sources. “He is now safe and being treated for minor injuries,” added the television station.

The incident occurred in the closed airspace of the Nevada test and training circuit. In this area, the army repeatedly organizes large-scale maneuvers to practice responding to simulated threats, and there are also shooting ranges for testing weapons.

“The military confirmed to us that the crash occurred north of Las Vegas and approximately 25 miles (40 kilometers) northeast of Indian Springs, Nevada, where Creech Air Force Base, a major base for remotely piloted aircraft, is located,” wrote the US website AirAndSpaceForces. According to him, populated areas were not affected in any way.

The value of one conventional F-35A fighter is around 83 million dollars, i.e. roughly 1.7 billion CZK.
